Opening hours
Open hotel: 29 June–9 August
During the summer season, Sommerhotellet is open daily for individual guests. Head to our booking page to reserve your stay and meals. We welcome guests aged 12 and above.
Before and after the season: groups & exclusive hire
Weddings, milestone birthdays, weekends with friends, yoga retreats, time away with colleagues or a leadership off-site — outside the main season, Sommerhotellet can be booked exclusively for private groups.
You’ll have the entire house to yourselves, either as a simple and flexible self-catered stay (think of it as your own private mountain lodge), or as a more complete experience with a chef and service included.

Hotel guests share 5 exquisite baths and 7 toilets spread across the house's 3 floors.
Our terrace, garden, beach and sauna on the beach are perfect for sunny summer days. Enjoy!
We serve breakfast and dinner in our restaurant every day during the open season.
You are welcome to dry your wet mountain clothes indoors.

WITH THE BUS
Valdresekspressen and ØstVest-Xpressen takes you to Vang from Oslo, Bergen, Lillehammer and Gjøvik, the bus stops 100 meters from the doorstep of Sommerhotellet. Click to find timetables and tickets at Nor-Way Bussekspress.
WITH A CAR
Sommerhotellet is located by E16, the address is Tyinvegen 5201, appr. 3,5 hours from Oslo and 4 hours from Bergen. You can park for free just outside the hotel. Please note that Sommerhotellet is not signposted along the road, use Google Maps to find us.

The hotel has 2 electric bikes for rent. We can provide more if you need. Please book in advance.
We offer local transport to mountain hikes and back, in Vang and Jotumheimen for our guests. On request.
The hotel can provide two canoes for our guests, for free.
